I hope to use this blog to share some of my perceptions, techniques and the stories behind my pictures. Feel free to ask me questions or provide comment. Perhaps I could provide you with a picture, instruction or a field trip. I travel in a Mercedes Sprinter that is camperized so overnight trips are an option (I'll be in a tent!). Happy New Year - I wish you all the best for 2017. I've added a Cuba Gallery with images taken during independant travel on 2 occassions. I shy away from resorts and scripted agandas, that way I get the feel of the place and it's people (we did stay at a 2-star last year in Holguin province). Cuba is a very nice, safe third-world country to visit...

I've added a few images of Cuba to the Black and White gallery, great horned owls in Birds, and my fav of the bunch - a dead frog in Abstract. I took the picture of the frog laying dead on the bottom of a shallow pool of the river near my house. I was struck by the message it communicated to me. Peter Jowett Photography is now on Facebook. Lots to learn but I anticipate it will generate some interest in my photography, instruction, field trips and slide shows.
